What is “LIONS SENIOR CITIZENS PARADISE”?
It is an Old Age Home being initiated by responsible citizens of the Lions fraternity to take care of the senior citizens who are deserted, sadly in their prime old age. It’s a place where the aged will get an opportunity to be in the comfort of people of similar age & experience. It’s a place where they can find comfort, medical care and happiness.

Where is it situated?
The Old Age Home will be situated about 6 ½ kms from Kalpakkam (approximately 78 kms from Chennai) surrounded by natural green and serene atmosphere.

Who are expected to be the probable beneficiaries?
Senior Citizens who are lonely and who do not have their sons/daughters to look after them due to various reasons are the beneficiaries of this project. Those senior citizens who have or can mobilize the required finances to take care of their needs will be allowed to stay in independent cottages on a “pay & live” basis while those who are economically not well-off will be staying in dormitory type accommodation. All other facilities will be common to all the inmates.

What are the medical facilities available to Senior Citizens?
  1. The project proposes to have in-house/on-site medical facilities around the clock to deal with general medical treatment.
  2. Specialists Medical Personnel from Chennai including Geriatricians are being scheduled to visit the campus at periodic intervals.
  3. In case of an emergency which requires sophisticated medical treatment, a tie-up/understanding has been reached with the modernized Central Government Hospital situated at Kalpakkam Power Project, which is hardly 15 minutes drive from the campus.
  4. A well equipped Ambulance will be stationed at the Project Site to deal with emergencies.
What are the sources of funding to develop and operate this project?
  1. Donations from all members of the public including Lion members, corporate, Banks & Philanthropists, etc.
  2. Acceptance of sponsorships from the Public – For Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner, Equipments like Fans, Geysers, Vessels, Cooking Ranges, etc.
  3. Monthly Collections from “Paid Inmates” of the Old Age Home.
What is the minimum age limit for moving into L S C P?
The minimum age limit for moving into the L S C P is 55 Years

I am above 55 Years of age but my spouse is aged less than 55. Can both of us live at L S C P?
Yes. You can.

Can I move into the L S C P if I am disabled (OR) require nursing assistance?
The L S C P is specially designed for independent living right now and hence cannot accommodate inmates who are disabled (OR) require nursing assistance at the time of entry. However if you are willing to pay a private helper can be arranged for a cost.

What happens if I move in now on an independent living basis but over the years require assisted living features (OR) require nursing assistance?
Once you move in, the L S C P is committed to providing you with basic medical / nursing assistance that you may need in the future.

What are the various categories of accommodation provided?
There are two types/categories of accommodation available Affordable Class: Independent Cottage with attached bath is provided at a nominal cost of Rs.5000/- which includes food. Economy Class: 25 Beded Dormitory Type separately for Ladies and Separately for Gents is available on free basis.

Can I upgrade, If so will the entrance fee I pay now be adjusted towards the cost?
Yes. You can upgrade in the future, subject to availability or as and when the accommodation is ready, definitely the entrance fee that you pay now will be adjusted towards the entrance fee of upgraded category.

Can I stay in the Room / Studio / Apartment for only part of the year?
Yes, you can stay away for part of the year, however you would have to continue paying the minimum monthly maintenance charges for short absences. This is to ensure that the common amenities and services can be kept in excellent condition.

Can I bring my own domestic help?
No, we will ensure our own trained staff does all housekeeping work. This is to ensure security and maintain service delivery standards.
